10. Neglect of Ferrers' Monuments at Merevale.

Lack of heraldic commemoration and recognition in relation to the Ferrers who originally donated the lands, called " the forests of Arden " for the building and upkeep of the Cistercian Monastery/Abbey at Merevale, has been demonstrated by the family of the Dugdale and their cronies who, when rebuilding the Gate-House (see Post 26.........wwwgensferreria.blogspot.com) at Merevale Farms, neglected to add at the side of their Arms (see Post 25.....ditto), those of the Ferrers.

Although they may have a legal right to what they have decided to do, since they have rebuilt the   Gate  House,    now   also  guarding  the  Church,     and they own the lands,  chivalric honour and civic duty requires recognition of historical truth and chivalric commemoration beyond any existing legal rights.  This  is   a   matter of  Justice  that   is  above   Freedom,   as   Justice,    having a  higer  priority    than   Freedom   on  the  scale  of  values  and  virtues,    being  inclusive  of  it,    requires   that   the   Duties   corresponding  to   Freedoms   be   satisfied    before  any  claim   to  the   latter   may  be   uttered,  except   for  those  of  life  and  shelter   that   correspond   automatically   to  a  being  behaving   asw  a  human  person  (  one  cannot   escape  from  duties  and   right  behaviour   though   by   just   invoking   rights).    This   is   why   modern  Democratic   Constitutions,   such as  that  of  the  United  Statets   of  America,   that   were   drafted   on  the  basis  of     the   euphoria   and  excitement  of  the   French  Revolution's   excesses  and   abuses  of   Justice  in  the  name  of  Freedom   are  inherently    faulty   and  harbour  the  seeds  of  their  own   failure   to-day.   In  any  case,  in  spite  of  all   the  propaganda,   the  U.S.A.   have   extremely    limited    social   security  and  medical  care   which  poresupposae  the   holding  of    some   wealth.   Just   consider   that   the  most  cherished    icon    of  the  U.S.A.   is  not  Justice   as   this   should,   but   Freedom,     the  statue    representing    the  latter    being   in   the    N.Y.-harbour   as  well  as  at  the  top  of  the  Capitol.   This  is   not  a   digressive    comment    but   has   fundamental   importance  in   pointing    to   the    roots  of   the   problems    of   an  ethical   nature    causing   the   death  of  our   present   Civilisation   for  lack  of   truly    enlightened   leadership.

Moreover, the owners of the Farms have more than amply benefited from the selling of the stones of the ancient Monastery/Abbey which they have hastened into total disappearance and a maliciously desired and expected oblivion, in order to sell the materials ( Up to a few years ago a substancial Gothic Arch from the Abbey still remained that soon also disappeared without leaving any trace ) which should have been preserved for historical and archeological research. I charge further that if nothing is done by the National Trust, even the Church and the Ferrers effigies now therein collected are at risk from the same malicious ill-will.

Heraldic icons pertaining to the Ferrers' effigies inside the Gate Church, which commemorate this great and historical family and their links to the ancient Cistercian Abbey/Monastery they founded and built, have not been replaced as wear-and-tear has been taking its toll.

Shame on you people of Staffordshire!

Not to mention the human rights to honour, historical and commemorating recognition of the thousands of monks, all british citizens, who, through the centuries of the Abbey's life have contributed to the spiritual well-being of the British Commonwealth.

To me the perpetrators of these injustices and malice are phelons, and so I declare and brand them, here on this Post in my Blog!. Let the people of all Staffordshire, especially their present bevy of small nobles, of fame and honour-usurping, sycophanting parvenues, who have done nothing to redress this example of ill manners and chivalry, share into this my accusation of phelony!

Somehow these manipulating phelons have even succeeded in having the memory of the ancient and famous Abbey removed from present Road Maps of the County.

This means that, in the future, unless one has access to an old Map ( like I had in 2004 ), one would not even be able to locate the site of Merevale Church and of the ancient Monastery/Abbey. Let me point out that the Church and the Gate- House are still representative of the Abbey.

I further charge and condemn the Anglican Church in Staffordshire as being a party to this malicious conspiracy, and ask God for the punishment and chastisement of those responsible, in the past, present and future. Amen!.

So help me God!
Note-:  As a contrast to Staffordshire and Rutland's   lack   of  piety   and  historical  justice  I have witnessed  in   2004,      I   am  glad  to be able to say,   a different spirit of good-will and chivalry, truly british and not of the barbaric anglo-saxon type,    in the neighbouring County of   Northamptonshire,   where the city of    Higham-Ferrers appears to be proud of the ancient and noble family of  the Ferrers,   while  the   town  of   Oackam  (  in  Rutland;  perhaps  it   should  be  called   Ratland ) has   removed   its   Ferrers-appellation   and   distinction.

The town's noble and lofty church proudly displaies glass-work showing Arthur as a roman officer and St. Columban, one of the irish/catholic preachers to the english and Teutons of Europe. A huge painting of the red roman/welsh dragon of roman origins, brought in by the roman legions into England, commandeered by the welsh/roman recruits and veterans and made into the icon of Wales, has a central place in the vestry, in its wonderful might and colour.

This british/roman icon, a red-tinctured one, called by the Britons the Pendragon, is shown together with the alternative one, usurped by the Saxons, the latter in gold, broken down, in the central scene in the Bayeux Tapestry, representing Harold at his moment of defeat, when a welsh arrow pierced his eye. I may be the first to have noticed these so evident details. However human observers generally see only what they wish to see. And mind you, I am not an  English expert or a BBC archaelogist. They love pick-and-shovel-work in the fields with pretty female co-eds! In order to convey the high ethical standards of the Ferrers, in contrast to those of the Dugdale at Merevale, it is sufficient to mention and show how this family, in spite of their long-lasting management of Higham-Ferrers, neither encroached upon, added to nor usurped at all, the commemorative or heraldic effigies and memories left there by a previously ruling family, the Chichele. No Ferrers' effigy or heraldic icon was placed in that church at all ( it is the outstanding one in that town), in order to not detract from the honours of the Chichele!
I  am  glad  to   say  that   the  people of   Higham-Ferrers   had   contractors   maintaining   the   exterior   facade  of  the   Church,   which  was  surrounded  by  scaffoldings   in   2004.  That is   why  I   had   to  use  a   Mail  Card   to   show   the   Church   dedicated   to  St. Mary  the  Virgin.   The  altar  is   still   located   according  to  the  Ambrosian  Rite   which    affords   the  Priest   more   recollection.

Both the Chichele and the Ferrers left trusts for the relief and education of the poors of Higham-Ferrers which are still in existence to-day.
In relation to Oackam-Ferrers the principal town of the County of Rutland ( should it be changed to Ratland?), its citizens with cholesterol-filled-brains, have recently removed the appellation Ferrers while keeping Ferrers's heraldic symbols in the County's Coat of Arms and the manorial grain-barn which bristles with the iron-shoes in every known metal, collected as tithes by the Ferrers on behalf of the town, through the centuries of their excellent management of that ungrateful and spiteful County, since these bring in revenue from the gullible tourists who are in many instances misinformed about local history.

How low and mercenary can one be? I have also witnessed good-will at Duffield, where the National Trust displays and maintains a truthful, correct and exhaustive sign, while at Tutbury Castle a total lack and misrepresentation of history has occurred and   is  being   manifested  on  site.
