20. The Triptych at Tamworth Castle.

The Triptych at Tamworth Castle.
( Slightly  modified  version ).
(  See   Post   6   for   pictures ).
The Triptych consists of three heraldic oil-painted panels sequentially numbered 53, 54 and 55 on the ceiling-corniche of the Withdrawal Room, at Tamworth Castle in Staffordshire. There are a total of sixty five Coat of Arms similarly painted, in both the Withdrawal and the Breakfast Rooms, all quartered per pale with a few exceptions, to commemorate marriages by and to the House of Ferrers, a few being individual Arms, one about Sir George Vere-Ferrers-Townshend, either the 16th or 17th Baron Ferrers de Chartley, Knight of Tamworth Castle, Baron Compton, Marquess of Townshend of Raynham, Earl of Leicester, being multi-quartered.
The series was commissioned in the times of the Hannoverian Dynasty (1714-1901 ), following the fall of the Stuart Dynasty ( 1603-1714 ), as panel 54 appears to refer to the reign of King James II ( 1685-1689 ), just before whose reign, John Ferrers, the last Ferrers Knight of Tamworth had died, in 1680. His daughter Anne had then inherited the Honour of the Knighthood of Tamworth Castle which was passed on to the son of her marriage to Robert Shirley Esq., who died in 1698, yes, her son Robert Shirley
(1692-1714 ) who styled himself Viscount Tamworth in 1711.
Robert Shirley died without issue, and all Ferrers’ resources assembled in turn in the hands of the Shirley, the Compton the Townshend, the Ferrers of Baddesley-Clinton being unable to accede to these probably owing to their lack of adequate rank, in spite of the marriage of Edward Ferrers de Baddesley-Clinton to the Ferrers-Townshend-heiress, Lady Harriet Ann Townshend, who died in 1813.
Owing to the presence in the series of the already mentioned, multi-quartered Coat of Arms of a Sir George Vere-Ferrers-Townshend, Marquess of Townshend,
either the 16th (1755-1811 ) or the 17th Baron Ferrers de Chartley ( 1788-1855), both of the same name, and with the same Titles and Honours, it is quite possible one of these two gentlemen may have been the one to have either commissioned or at least to have had the works completed.
There are a few errors, either pertaining to heraldic representation or of an historical nature in the Arms of the collection.
Although the principal aim----------there being several goals aimed at in the collection of heraldic nuptial Coat of Arms, all discussed in my book------appears to be to summarise and commemorate the most influential alliances with other noble Houses, since the beginning of the House of Ferrers at the landing at Hastings from Normandie, then known in the Latin used in those times all over Europe for legal purposes, as de Ferrariis, the Triptych holds a central position in the Nuptial Collection and focuses on the Britishness of the Ferrers by its summary of the links of this House with the Scottish Crown and its British traditions and aspirations, about which Sir Laurence Gardner ( of St.Clair, the traditional hereditary guardian of Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland ) writes so well and extensively in his books about the Holy Graal and the sacred Desposyniic Dynasties. Gardner fails however to ask vital questions about the failures of the Desposyniic ( Davidic ) Lines, thus also failing to seek suitable answers and to synthetise this knowledge for our times, a task I am trying to accomplish.
The three panels of the Triptych are in fact floating in a badckground of five-petal Rosae Rugosae or Templar Roses, pink and silver, which symbolise par excellence the Holy Graal tradition of the British Monarchy .
Let me quote from page 286 of Sir Laurence Gardner’s “ The Bloodline of the Grail Kings ”-:

On 26th March 1371 the Royal House of 6th century Arthur [ b. 599- d. 603 ] mac Aedan of Dalraida, the key Graal successions of Britain and Europe had conjoined in Scots Royalty, and the Stewarts’ ancient legacy of kinship was fulfilled.

Unquote.

Another Article in my book shows the links of the House of Ferrers to the Order of the Knights Templar since its origins, their contributions to and participations in the affairs of the Order, founded by Sir Godfrey de Bouillon, under the instigation and inspiration of Saint Bernard de Clairveaux, the reformer of the Cistercian
( Cluniac ) Monastic Order along stricter Benedectine Rules, until the loss of the Earldom of Derby at the time of the eighth and last Earl, Sir Robert Ferrers
( 1241-1279 ).
I shall come back in this Article, to this stage of Ferrers’ history, which has been much maligned and misrepresented by most historians slavishly protecting the reputation of the English Royal Dynasties of the Plantagenets and of the Tudors, among whom there were some really abominable and diabolical Kings, worthy of the worst and sinister side of their ancient barbaric anscestors. Being of the blood of Jesus has not been, does not necessarily mean a guarantee of sanctity as God’s Will, Grace and the assent to God’s Grace by the individual are required.
Both King David and Sholomon were corrupt, King Arthur was incestuous with his sister and we all know about King Henry VIII of the Tudor Dynasty and his nine wives many of whom he had judicially murdered.
Being related to Jesus can mean however a natural ( inherited ) predisposition to and openness to Grace.

Digression.
In a short but necessary digression, it is important to note that all modern democratic ideals of personal liberties, freedoms and privileges, unless complemented by their corresponding duties are but shallow and hollow, aimed by abusers at justifying the liberties of corrupt leaders and rulers, including present Mafiosi
( i.e., anti-society, anti-civilisation, anti-State ), Repubblican Governments ( a typical example being Italy to-day, in 2009). These abusers of Modern Democracy claim in fact to be democratic while abusing and corrupting the ideals of freedom by separating these from their corresponding complementary duties, and by neglecting a suitable and satisfactory education of the people, alienating these from their histories, noble traditions and heroic, sometimes saintly, referential witnesses, thus giving rise to generations of Pinocchio-like individuals, who have lost most of the knowledge of their national and even personal identities/histories/glories/honours, becoming open to the evil, shallow manipulations of their soulless, mercenary leaders who fill these with hollow heroes taken from ball games, sports, the stages etc., a repetition in a different, bloodless form, of the Gladatorial Games of corrupt Imperial Rome. Much of this History is erased from school curricula on the basis that it cannot interest the children of our Immigrants who originate from different cultures. This is totally wrong and absurd, since one ends with new generations of people without identity at all, and a cultural vacuum and emptiness that becomes filled by the Pinocchios’ advertisements from our moneyed powers, the new rulers without honour, tradition or belief except money. Our Immigrants should embrace our culture while retaining whatever is not inimical to our own in their own cultures, else stay there where they came from. All Modern Democratic ideals had their origins in the Golden Age of Greece which reached its peak at the times of the ostracised, exhiled, maligned, persecuted oligarch Pericles, the last of the true, noble Greeks, and were championed and implemented in Medieval Europe, before the rise of the corrupt National Monarchies, fostered by the Constantinian Church of Rome, to antagonise the Holy Emperors, by the Templar Movement which has its roots in the times of King Zedekiah of Judah ( 597-587 BC), martired by his captors, from the New Babylonian Empire ruled by Nebuchadnezzar II ( 605-562 BC ) Zedekiah’s daughter TAMAR being brought to Ireland by the Prophet Jeremiah together with the Royal Guards of the Temple of Jerusalem or Sion ( the anscestors of the Templars) and married in ca. 586 BC, to EOCHAID I, the King of the Irish, giving rise to the ‘Stone Royal Dynasty’ reaching down to UGAINE MAR THE GREAT of Ireland in the 4th century BC and from the latter down to the ‘Royal Scots and Welsh Dynasties’ of ARTHUR OF DALRIADA and ARTHUR OF DYFED in the 9th century AD.
There is also a publication from the The Covenant Publishing Co., LTD., London, “ The Royal House of Britain an Enduring Dynasty ” by Rev. W.M.H.Milner...... which gives at page 21 a genealogical list not much differing from the one supplied by Sir Laurence Gardner.
In the former Tamar is rendered Tea Tephi of Tara and Jeremiah was by the Irish called Olam Folla. According to the ancient Epics, Tamar married, sometime after her father death in 587 B.C., a Milesian ( from Miletus/Greece ) Prince of celtic origins rooted in the area around the Caspian sea in 6000-4000 B.C., whom she met in Spain during their migrations to Ireland where they soon landed founding a Dynasty that gave rise to the Royal Irish and Scottish Houses, through which the present Stewart line as well as those of most Desposyniic European Monarchies can be traced, since they all intermarried.
One must also mention at this stage, the other judaeo/christian alliances through Jesus and Mary Magdalene, James of Arimathea and other intermarriages between Celtic, Gothic and Shythian Princes during their migrations from the Caspian Sea to Northern Europe and its islands, begun in ca. 6000 BC and even earlier prehistoric mediterranean semitic ones to the prehistoric anscestors of Cro-Magnon origins of the mentioned Celtic/Gothic/Shythian groups, which occurred in ca. 30,000, prior to the Last Glacial Maximum ( L.G.M.) that occurred between 25,000 and 13,000 BC.
Constantinianism, although motivated at the time of Emperor Constantine,
( who was incidentally a Desposyniic Ruler through his saintly mother’s anscestry ), by then plausible historical and political reasons, has attempted during the first centuries of the Roman Christian Church to erase or somehow manipulate all these memories and origins and give Western History an exclusively Latin/Hebrew-dressing, however to-day, when this dressing has become alienated and corrupted by the rise to power on the waves of a corrupted and abused Democracy, of the moneyed, collusive, scheming, sinister, goat-herders and shepperds, ex-slaves brought into Europe by the naive Romans, or later Barbarian Invaders, who are also religious hypocrits, to-day has the time come to bring these memories and traditions back, to purge Constantinianism from its Mafia accretions, affiliations and infiltrations, to reform, revive, Christianity, and save Western Civilisation and its democratic achievements, by looking back to the original Templar understandings about a healthy and godly government. It is important to remember that the Scottish King Robert The Bruce ( 1306-1329 ) gave sanctuary in Scotland to the Members of the Order of the Templars which is still active there in hiding, its ideals also being still alive to-day.
The Stuart Dynasty ( 1603-1714 ) tried to spread these ideals for the benefit of Europe, however England was then bent onto becoming a World Empire, a process begun under the Tudors and the religious wars among christian hypocrits and fanatics of various denominations, who made a mockery of Democratic Ideals, destroyed their well-intentioned attempts. The English Empire is now no more and the Tudors fizzed out in a couple of generations, killed by STDs contracted by King Henry VIII, paradoxically also a Desposyniic Royal. England ( I do not say Britain ), although still in better moral shape than Italy, France, the Balcans and the USA, etc. is fast degenerating too under Anglo-Saxon laissais-fairism which is not Democracy but its corrupted form. We all know now in the Era I qualify as “of Manure ”, the catastrophic events the Western World and the whole world has had to endure since the French Revolution and the Era of Enlightenment, without any real or permanent political progress having been achieved, except a vast wastage of resources and the danger of Islam and an all-engulfing and fagocitating global demographic expansion threatening to obliterate Western achievements.
With the rise of a United Europe a possibility has now eventuated for another attempt at returning Law and Order to governing bodies infiltrated by moneyed power groups ( vulgarly called Mafie) who are so mercenary, selfish and stupid, as to not be able to realise the number of further catastrophic events looming at the horizon of their self-deluding ways. The Mafie have ruined the USA, are sabotaging Europe, and even Australia, a Continent the Cities of which can show such a transparency due to their open and clean areas and suburbs that organised crime should not be able to exist, is fighting a loosing war against Organised Crime since, even the High Police Force Commissioner has admitted the goal is now to just maintain existing Crime manageable. We are referring here principally to the drugs’ traffic that is damaging our young generations for which so much money is being invested when adolescents, a great deal of which is being wasted due to the damage caused by substance-abuse and a lack of identity. The inability to effectively hit Crime is the result of Democratic Laws that insist in dealing with it with an excessive amount of safeguards protecting the Criminal. Drug-users should also be prosecuted and punished. Gentlemen are required at all governmental levels, not just a couple of them as puppets at the top, members of the ancient noble Houses. In order to get these gentlemen to leading positions, the restauration of all Desposyniic Monarchs is required, joined into Monarchich Assemblies, with elected Monarchich leaders, ranked in accordance to their educational achievements and experiences, according to merit, working together to balance and check Parliaments, Senates, Congresses, all governmental levels, through series of Permanent Royal Commissions, in relation to issues of corruption, selfishness, delusionary fraudolent practices ( including bubbles of all sorts and descriptions ), monopolies, in relation to all moneyed powers in the Western Nations. These Monarchich Assemblies would also ensure the protection, survival and perpetuation of our Western Cultures, Traditions, Languages, Values/Ideals, Religious Beliefs and Liberties from the infiltrations, encroachments and take-overs of foreign, alien, opponents, mostly masquerading as Immigrants or lovers of Democracy.
The West should remain open to adoption of Immigrants but these Immigrants should be West-Lovers, else they should remain where they came from, not emigrate just for the sake of acquiring political rights and to benefit from higher standards of living and being. These people, if serious, should remain in their own Countries and actively fight their corrupt leaders if needs be through armed Revolutions. There is no room for loafers and fake pacifists in our World. There has never been a place for these fakes and yellow bellies, unless they are prepared to renounce the world like some ancient, genuine, catholic, buddhist or islamic saints did.
These Immigrants must either fight their Revolutions at home or be prepared to fight in our armies.

End of Digression.

The Triptych is a Templar legacy from the Ferrers who are members of “gensferreria/ferraria/farrar ”. The reason for my spending so much time and effort in researching the Ferrers is therefore in the fact that they are Desposyniic, have these strong Templar links, which have also existed in other European families of “gensferreria ” as exemplified by the Arms of the Ferrari of Genova, have behaved extremely well when compared to noble families from the Middle Ages, surviving by the Grace of God until our present times, having given rise to this Clan which is unique in the History of Europe, and can be used as an example of Desposyniic excellence, in spite of the general failure of Desposyniic Monarchies. This legacy, this tradition, being of a spiritual rather than a material nature, can serve as an archetype for all those in the West who have descended from Celts, Goths and Scythian tribes who as the “gensferreria....... ” ( a late Clan assembled in about 100 A.D. around the lake of Lemann where Geneva is in Switzerland ), migrated to Europe from the Middle East prior to the establishment of the civilised borders of the Roman Empire. The Triptych is about all these issues I have written above, once one has taken the step and made the effort to know the History it has been associated with, this history having been interpreted correctly.
The abridged Charts preceding this Article have been supplied to provide some of the landmarks required for this understanding of the human resources and their progress in experience, distance and time and of the European scenario, which gave rise to the Templar movement from its Biblical origins in the times of King Zezekiah, the last King of Judah (597-587 B.C. ) of the Prophet Jeremiah, the Temple of Jerusalem and its Body of Guards of Syon.
The Triptych begs the honest and enlightened reader to ask and to consider the question why did all these somehow well-intentioned Nobles and Monarchs, related to the Davidic Lion of Judah, to the Royal Houses of Israel and Judah FAIL?
The House of Ferrers at least, which is a member ot he Desposyniic Clan of “gensferreria/ferraria/farria” has always been extremely well intentioned and behaved better than most, when contrasted to various Dynastic and noble Houses, all fallen along the way.
It still has to-day, representatives at the House of Lords.
The explanation asked above about the reasons for all this failure, a question which is not asked or answered by Sir Laurence Gardner ( who as a descendant of the St. Clair should know better than anyone else ) and the present descendants of the ancient Desposyniic Monarchies, still bent on and bound to try and repeat the errors of the Past, if allowed to do so, is the spirit of greed and competition that animated all these Desposyniic Monarchs, as well as their predecessors, since the Fall of the Roman Empire of the West ( about 450 A.D.), who tried to eliminate one another in continuous fratricidal wars, including and up to WW I, all fighting against the ideal of European unity under the German Emperors of the Sacred Roman Empire.
These failures can be somehow ascribed to the complex and confusing scenario caused in Europe by the fall of the Roman Empire of the West, the continuous Barbaric invasions and the competition for dominance and survival. The Roman Church, which also became infiltrated by competitive factions, is also to blame for hiding the original truth about Jesus' Royal Mission and presenting Him as a poor, crucified carpenter without earthly ambitions. In fact, one must remember that the Emperors had been originally intended to have been dynastically issuing from the ancient Line of the Desposyniic Fishers Kings that was from King Clovis the Merovingian.
The interferences of the Constantinian Church in Rome aimed to generate an Imperial Line totally dependent and submissive to Rome and tried to achieve this aim by manipulations and exclusion of texts ( at the Council od Nicea and at later ones ), by the total Judaization/Latinisation of the Biblical sources, the removal of Desposyniic mandates and missions in History from the Nordic Lines that had intermarried with the Davidic descendents. The Constantinian Church had however always been opposed by the survival of the Roma Empire of the East, in which the religious power was subordinated to the one of the Byzantinian/Greek/Macedonian/Illirian Emperors, the refusal of the Saxon/German Emperors to submit to Rome, aiming at the same control Byzanthium had of the religious power. The Constantinian Church therefore began the dangerous game of encouraging the rise of the European Monarchies and of the cultural divisions in Europe, politicising these differences aiming at reducing Imperial Power, an aim they achieved at the cost of an enormous waste of resources and the creation of artificial barriers between the European ethnies. This is why “gensferreria/ferraria/farria ” is such a unique phenomenon in Europe, since the members of this Clan unconsciously retained in their surnames, by remaining at least true to their surnames, amidst the chaos ,enmities and disorder of European history, like the struggle between Ghibellines and Welf and those caused by the Religious Wars, just to name a couple of issues for division and dissent, the evidence of common ancestral roots-: i.e., in the latin irregular verb fero-tuli-latum-ferre.
This is why I am suggesting to-day a restauration within the framework of a Federated and United Europe, democratically governed, of all existing surviving Monarchs to the ancient European seats of Monarchich Government, under democratically controlled conditions and safeguards, afforded by modern Media and Communications, benefiting from the new realisations and understandings afforded by our present knowledge of History, interpreted according to the lines pointed out here in this Article.
These Monarchs should have advisory and legislative powers in parallel with Parliaments, Congresses, Senates, etc. and would provide a guarantee of the perpetuation and protection of our cultural heritage from opponents and infiltrators, due to the fact they would only be allowed to intermarry within the European, Christian, historical framework in the same way the Islamic Monarchs have been doing.

Panel 55 of the Triptich shows the marriage alliance between Sir William Ferrers, the seventh Earl of Derby, wrongly designated in the Panel as the 2nd Earl, to Margaret de Quincy, the eldest daughter and co-heiress from the marriage of Roger de Quincy, the Earl of Winchester, to Helen, daughter of Lord Alain of Galloway and Margaret of Angus & Huntingdon.
The House of Angus & Huntingdon is also the pivot of the alliance between the Bruce and the Stewarts who gave rise to the present pretenders of the Royal House of Scotland.
The three panels are self explanatory. There is an execution error in the de Chartley Arms, vairee or et gules, shown on panel 55 in so far as the design should begin with gold, not red. This is a common error, made by the artists, that runs through the whole series of the panels. The differences in the Crowns, distinguishing between a baronial, earldom or royal rank, should also be noted.
The heraldic roses are a fundamental symbolism pointing to the Templar associations and affiliations of the Houses represented and their sympathies for the Stewart Dynasty. This does not have to detract from present loyalties to the Windsor Monarchy, which is also Desposyniic, but apppears to have relinquished this knowledge and Mission, which should in justice do something about a Stewart-restauration in Scotland.
Since my book is about the Clan I call “gensferreria......... ” of which the Ferrers are illustrious and important Members, I would like to say something about the Clan, the Ferrers and to point out, in particular, paradigmatically, the injustices, abuses and persecutions which this House had to suffer from the Plantagenet and Tudor Dynasties, in spite of the Tudor also being of Desposyniic descent.
At page 2 of this Article I have mentioned Sir Robert Ferrers, the eigth and last Earl of Derby who lost all the Ferrers’ resources belonging to the male side of their ancestry, i.e. with the exception of those inherited from the marriages to the Peverell, the Chester and the de Quincy heiress or co-heiress.
These resources were confiscated by the Crown with the blessings of Parliament at a stage when the latter had begun to be infiltrated by the new nobility of the pen and law, like the Dugdales ( i.e., Sir William Dugdale of “ Antiquities of Warwickshire ’s " fame ) and given to the Lancaster Branch of the Royal House. This at a time when Parliament began to play the Monarchy against the Barons and vice-versa, in a similar way the Papacy played the Monarchies against the Emperors. These games played in the name of freedom at the expense of duties and/or honour, are very dangerous ones to play and can result, in spite of an apparent, paltry achievement achieved at the end of a move, is only a temporary one, although seeming permanent, owing to its duration for a span of time longer than a couple of human generations. These gamews always result in the serious damage of the ideal governing system, which eventuates centuries after the game has been played. This is why the Westminster System of opposing Parties debating in a Parliament must never be abused by fanatical partisan enmities, and must be be operated in truth, honour and love of duty and Civilisation. Else it becomes a trap, a sham soon infiltrated by Mafiosi. Love of Civilisation and Nation must always be paramount in the order given. The Plantagenets ended badly and were replaced by other Dynasties. It is possible to show, in a way that English Historians have failed or have been unwilling to do, that the Policy of the conquering Norman Dynasty in relation to neighbouring Scotland was one of recognition, toleration and respect of the then ruling British Monarchs of Scotland and Ireland, provided these reciprocated the same attitudes. This criterion of non-aggression, if mutually repected, in the absence of the many
interfering forces, would have been a minimum requirement for a Dysposyniic balance. It was in fact King Henry II, the Plantagenet of flawed Visigothic descent, who, having obtained the English Crown by marrying Eleanora d’Aquitaine, the daughter of King Henry I, embarked in wars against his neighbours for the purpose of dominance and conquest. Eleanor d’Aquitaine, who had been during her father’s reign the ruler of Aquitaine, showing great wisdom and ability, opposed in fact, together with her sons, her greedy and power-crazy husband twice, first when Henry refused to return the Scottish territories of Northumberland and Cumberland to William The Lion ( 1165-1214 ), the second time, when Henry asked to divorce her, bent on marrying Alice the daughter of the King of France who had been living at the English Court since the age of five, as the betrothed of Richard ( the future Lionheart ), one of the King’s son, aiming at the conquest of France as a step towards the throne of the Holy Roman Emperor. Much has been said about Henry’s reforms of the Law of his times, ( even in a recent BBC Documentary by an archalogist called Anderson, a little blind sycophant leading the blind ), and the enpowerment of Common Law. However, England is the only western Nation that has not yet achieved a Constitution, thus leaving all Law in a state of flux. Moreover, Henry’s own character and way of living showed he was without scruples, morality or good intentions, a dissembler of truth. His real aim was to increase Royal Power, by playing for the favour of the masses at the expense of existing cheks provided by the Church and the Nobility of the Sword, which is the true Nobility, insofaras it is the only real people prepared to fight injustice consistently for honour and justice ( in a modern abused Democracy these classes can easily be replaced by dishonorable moneyed Mafias ), by increasing the authority and jurisdiction of Common Law and of his appointed Judges, creating a Nobility of Pen and Law, the arm-chair fighters, knowing he could always control and dictate to them, since he alone had the power to choose and elect his judges.
In modern abused Democracies these become the creatures of the moneyed powers, the Mafias.
To-day ( 2009) the danger is the Judiciary System gets infiltrated by Mafiosi elements as it has happened in Italy and elsewhere, and there is then no other power to reform the whole judiciary structure. Civil War becomes the only solution, like in Franco’s Spain in 1938, but a Civil War leader does not happen everyday, especially in a the yellow-bellied societies the West
is nurturing. Republics, in a worse situation than Monarchies, in which Royal Commissions can be mandated, given that honourable, incorruptible individuals are still existing, show the weackness of an abused Democratic System of Governmment. Otherwise a stalemate is reached in which corruption is balanced by incorruption and nothing can be done.
Again, the Common Law is only as good as the people of a Nation are. With the present abuses of Democracy, and the corruption of the Mafiosi leaders and of the Middle Classes, the Law suffers from being biased in favour of the moneyed individuals and is too expensive for the average citizen. Even when the scenario were to be uncorrupted, what may appear to be acceptable and normal to-day may not have been so in Henry’s times, when justice depended much on the activities of some good powerful Nobles or Institutions who had the power to oppose a corrupt Monarchy or Papacy. The Military Monastic Order of the Templars was such a Power in the Europe of the Middle Ages until its persecution in 1300.
No, it was not and could not be legally dissolved and is still theoretically there in existence owing to the resistance, defiance, and opposition of the Grandmaster, and of his Assistant, unto death, by burning. An example of this to-day would be the United Nations. However, in this Institution there is too much collusion against the West by Islam, India and China with Third World Nations. What the world needs to-day, is a strong, Christian, healthy European Union, with a strong balance of checks, between a Parliament, a Senate and a Monarchich Assembly or something similar, and of course, a strong, flexible, open-ended Constitution to protect the endurance of the system and to prevent infiltrations and its being damaged, weakened or taken-over by foreign elements, factions, factors, forces and powers.
The members of the Monarchich Assembly would like the Royal Monarchs of Islam ( i.e., Saudi Arabia ) only marry members from within its own ranks or from families recognised as being the descendents of old European Noble Houses, not for racial motivations, but in order to avoid the infiltration from incompatible foreign cultural elements aiming at unreciprocated power trade-offs . Try and find out how many barriers there are to infiltrate the Saudi Arabian Monarchy.
In any case, the fact remains that, in spite of all evidence that Henry improved the administration of the law, he was an absolute Monarch that did not hesitate to use evil ways to attain his aims, as the case of the murder of Saint Thomas a’Becket shows and his exhorbitant ruinous, ruthless taxation that alienated all the people subjected to his rule in the Angevin Empire. I am not an enemy of the Church of Rome ( and I shall die a Roman Catholic ), which is an Institution worth saving, except that I believe Constantinianism is now redundant and obsoleted, only cherished by Mafiosi bent in controlling the Roman Church which must get rid of them, since they represent, in spite of their chamaleontic camouflages, in Europe and in the West, ancient, foreign, destructive inplants and infiltrations. King Henry’s feud against Saint Thomas may appear to have been justified by unrealistic priviledges safeguarded by the then too powerful and wealthy Constantinian Church, bordering on injustice, protecting criminal prelates among the Clergy, however, let us say that the Clergy is subjected to by far greater temptations and forces of evil than the average lay person who can eadsily let off steam when under pressure, and should be judged by their own peers. As I have already said, Henry’s aim was to decrease the Church’s power seeking the increase of Royal Power. This was shown in the reign of King Henry VIII when the humiliation of Rome was to serve his lust and attempts at siring a male issue from a succession of marriages, a vane one, owing to the fact that his reproductive system had been damaged by STDs ( syphilis ) acquired in his dissolute youth. The fact that his wife and his sons opposed him most of the time does also not go in his favour. His times were those in which the Nobility was asking for unfettered balancing judicial checks, both against the encroachment of the Church and of the King. Magna Charta and the Provisions of Oxford and Westminster were to be achieved only in the times of King Edward I ( 1272-1307 ), after the rebellion of Simon de Montfort, the Earl of Leicester to which Sir Robert Ferrers participated (1241-1279 ).
A new Religious movement had actually risen in the meanwhile in Italy, that of the Franciscans, clamoring for justice and the protection of the poor, and was replacing the persecuted Order of Templars. Simon de Montfort was a Third Order ( lay) Franciscan. These were the times when the whole of Christendom was debating the issue of Church and religious poverty.
Even the Franciscan Order was divided by these issues.
The struggle for Magna Charta backed by the Order of Templars, had begun in the times of Sir Robert Ferrers ( died 1173 ), Lord Tutburie, the third Earl of Derby, who rebelled against King Henry II, in a rebellion that lasted for 16 years, in support of Queen Eleanor and her sons aiming at curbing Henry’s obsessions with further imperial expansion that was causing increasing poverty in the Angevin Empire. How could a Knight, a Baron or an Earl find the capital required to stimulate the economy of his estates and the welfare of his people as well as to finance the costs of an unending War for Empire, with the new nobility of arm-chair Nobles, the itinerant Royal Judges and their pen-pushers breathing down their sweaty necks and lusting for a share of their wealth?
The sixth Earl of Derby, Sir William ( died 1247 ), perhaps the most brilliant among the eight, also opposed absolute monarchich power, in support of Magna Charta, however using diplomacy rather than violence and brute force. However, one must also keep in mind that he lived when the Templar Order was still active and exercising its balancing activity in European Life. Even so, all the opposition by the Barons to the centralisation of all powers in the Monarchy, had to be prolonged until the times when Simon de Montfort
( 1251-1266 ) was forced into a rebellion, against his wishes for peace and justice and his loyalty to the Crown, that almost wiped out the Plantagenets. The proof of what I am saying is in the fact that he fought his last Battles ( Lewis and Evesham ) while holding King Henry III a prisoner in his camp, instead of having had him
executed as he should have.
See “ Simon de Montfort and His Cause ”, by Rev. W. H. Hutton, London, 1888, G. P. Putnam’s Sons, a little work that shows the honesty and good will of Simon the Earl of Leicester. On the other hand, L. F. Salzman’s “ Edward I ”,
although confirming the prolongation of the struggle for judiciary balances ( at least theoretical ones ) in the times of this King, fails to do justice to the cause of Sir Robert Ferrers whom he dismisses without any research of his motives and of his aims, not even mentioning de Montfort and the fact that Robert had joined the latter’s rebellion, being made a scapegoat, while de Clare and others had been pardoned.

I quote from page 45-:
Early in 1273, there had been a rising, anarchical and aimless, in the north; Robert de Ferrers, the restless Earl of Derby, had seized Chartley Castle in Staffordshire and had had to be brought to order by a force under Edmund of Lancaster [ to whom later on went all confiscated Ferrers-resources ] and the Earl of Lincoln.
Unquote.

Dugdale, an extremely skilled, intelligent, Antiquarian, Lawyer and Heraldist, however still a yellow-bellied pen-pusher, unfit to be an Historian, in his “Antiquities of Warwickshire ” also comments as one who blindly and servilely believes that every opposition to the Government ( the Monarchy ) is always wrong. He was a King Herald of Arms, a very gifted man, but he belonged to the new, rising nobility of the pen, of lawyers, people who fought sitting in arm-chairs.
As a contrast, there is not one Battle of the English Middle Ages in which the Ferrers did not participate, including the famous, mythical ones of Agincourt, Crecy and Poitiers when the English fought the French outnumbered-: 1 Englishman against 10 Frenchmen.
De Chartley was a Castle or Barony that had been acquired by Sir William Ferrers ( died 1247), the sixth Earl of Derby in the days of his marriage to Agness, the third daughter of Hugh de Kevelioc, the fifth Earl of Chester, sister and co-heiress of Ranulph de Blondeville, the sixth Earl of Chester, Duke of Brittany...............with which the Arms Vairee or et gules had become associated that had been inherited by the marriage of the third Earl of Derby
( died 1173 ) to Margaret, the daughter of William Peverell, the Baron of Nottingham. Since de Chartley was a Ferrers’ possession sourced by their matriarchal lines, it was not liable to confiscation by the Crown and as a matter of fact it allowed John the son of the last Earl of Derby, the disgraced rebel, the foundation for a request of a Chartered Barony of de Chartley to be approved
together with a pardon, by both the Crown and Parliament.
It is most likely then, that Robert Ferrers, the eigth Earl was fighting for honourable causes, as perceived by the Chivalrous/Feudal Laws of his times, following intolerable provocation by the Crown, to retrieve an ancient maternal inheritance to which the Ferrers’ Coat of Arms, Vairee’ or et gules, were linked, something every noble in England would have respected and assented to by existing Law, rather than seizing a new possession as the sycophant and ignoramus L. F. Salzman reports. It is important to emphasize the fact that the Ferrers had by then already lost the use of their ancient, original Coat of Arms, the one born by the first Earl od Derby, born 1083, i.e., Silver, six horse shoes black nailed or, arrayed 3, 2, 1, prior to the de Chartley one, which latter Arms they had inherited from the Peverells. The former Arms had in fact been placed in abeyance, following the rebellion by Robert the fourth Earl of Derby when King Henry II punished him with the loss of Tutburie Castle at the border between Staffordshire and Derbyshire, to which these Arms had been linked. Some Arms, when linked to an Honour such as a Title or a Castle, etc. are lost with the loss of the resources. Salszman should have known this when judging Robert Ferrers, the eigth Earl, in his dismissive, condescending, superior way. Please remember that the first Robert’s crime had been to support Queen Eleanor and her sons against Henry who pardoned his sons.
Was that Royal Justice inspite of the so much praised establishment of the Itinerant Royal Judges?
It is obvious to anyone considering the enormous power held by the Ferrers as the Earls of Derby, that they could not remain neutral in the struggles between the Barons and the Monarchy. It is also obvious to one who keeps on reading the History of this House with an open mind, seeking the path of Justice in History, that the Ferrers, whose line had failed in the male issue and had been taken over by the Devereux, when a Walter Devereux (1461-1485 ) became the 7th Baron Ferrers de Chartley through his marriage to Anne Ferrers
( born 1483 ) the only daughter of William Ferrers de Chartley
( 1412-1450 ) still kept on seeking Justice rather than self-aggrandisement when, in the person of Sir Robert Devereux-Ferrers (12591-1646 ), Knight, 12th Baron Ferrers de Chartley, Earl of Essex, Viscount Hereford, Baron Bourchier, financed, organised, trained and led Cromwell’s Roundheads in the days of the Civil War between the Protestant “ Puritans ” and the Monarchy. Incidentally, in order to further show by contrast the flexibility and readiness of these patriotic, by-partisan, great western historical examples to champion/serve political justice/righteousness, rather than a rigid, fanatical, partisan attitude, let me tell you that, while the afore-mentioned Walter Devereux-Ferrers, Knight, the 7th Baron Ferrers de Chartley, died on 22nd August 1485 with three of his sons at the Battle of Bosworth, in support of the Plantagenet King Richard III, Sir Robert Devereux-Ferrers, Knight, ( 1568-1601 ), the 11th Baron Ferrers de Chartley, Earl of Essex, Viscount Hereford, Baron Bourchier who had become the favourite of Queen Elisabeth I, was condemned to death on trumped-up charges, beheaded and atteinted in 1600-1 by a corrupt Parliament filled by pen-pushers, Lawyers and servile Judges. However, his son, Sir Robert Devereux-Ferrers, Knight, was restored in blood and honours in 1604 since Queen Elisabeth I died in 1603.

To conclude, let me make a short list of grievances the Ferrers have against the English Monarchs which point to the possibility they were continuously being provoked by the jealousy of the Monarchs about their wealth, successes, good-will, their power for good they never abused, using it only when some cause in the name of Justice required it of them, in accordance to conscience, as the Earls of Derby-:
(1)King Henry II overlooked the fact that Robert, the fourth Earl, had cavalierly supported his wife against him. He should also have punished his sons but did not. The walls of Tutburie Castle were reduced in height and the Ferrers lost the use of their ancestral Arms. Duffield Castle was also reduced to its foundations, remaining as such till to-day. Agatha, Robert’s daughter was seduced by King John, abused as a mistress and Joane, John’s illegitimate daughter sent into exhile, married off to LLewelin the Prince of Wales who had fought against Robert and Eleanor, had captured Robert’s brother, Walchelinus, the Baron of Eggington, Joanne's uncle, and had had him hung.
(2) Robert the eigth and last Earl of Derby had not participated in the Battle of Evesham ( some say he was forced to by Simon against his will to do so but Simon would not do such thing) that saw the defeat of Simon de Montfort, withdrawing from the cause of Simon after the Battle of Lewis ( 1263) together with de Clare who was senior to Robert and of a higher status than Robert was. Yet he was severely punished while de Clare and others were pardoned. His daughter Elisabeth was married off to the Welsh Prince as a way to exhile.
It is interesting to think about the possibility that the Tudors may have had Ferrers blood through two Ferrers-ladies in their ancestry, and that they caused the final fall of the Plantagenets, who had persecuted the Ferrers.
Had the Plantagenets been more bright and polished, they would have raised the Ferrers, who are anyway of Desposyniic descent, to their Royal Status by intermarriage, but they were a vain and corrupt lot of Gotic stock who preferrred to bring foreigners into England, so weakening their own cause.
A short account of the debacle is supplied in “ A Survey of Staffordshire ” by Sampson Erdeswick................together with “ The History and Antiquities of that County ”, by Reverend Thomas Hardwood, B.D.F.S.A, see pages 398-400, the Latin petition sent by Robert to King Henry III, therein being given also.
A short history of the strategically important Castle of Tutburie is also given (3) It is probable that had the Order of the Templars survived the French and Papal collusion, Sir Robert Ferrers would have retained the Earldom of Derby since there would not have been rebellions against the power-usurping and taxation-grasping Monarchy. However, even after their impoverishment and the reduction of the Ferrers' Power in Staffordshire where the bulk of their Manors had been
( 114 out of 210 ), they were suspected of hoarding Templar resources. King Henry VIII, in his move against Rome, confiscated Church-property-: Abbeys, destroyed monasteries, sent Clergymen and Religious to starve in the streets. Merevale Abbey, that had ben founded by the second Earl of Derby ( 1101-1163 ) was dug-up below its foundations in search for buried treasure and is now Merevale Farm in the hands of the Dugdale family of pen-pushers, bent on allowing time to erase all memories and monuments left of the Ferrers, a few of which have been collected in the Gate Church of Our Lady of Merevale at Merevale.
The most ancient of these is the Knight-effigy of Sir William Ferrers, Lord Tutburie, the 5th Earl of Derby, who died as a crusading Templar, in ca. 1197, at the siege of Acre in Palestine, led by King Richard I, the Lionheart. His effigy is coeval with and made by the same artist who made the one in the Church of the Templars at Temple Court in London, commemorating Sir Geoffrey de Mandeville, one of the leaders of the struggle for Magna Charta, who aldso participated in the same Crusade as Sir Willim Ferrers.
Incidentally, the Ferrers’ effigy has been wrongly identified in the past by so called experts, as belonging to Sir William Ferrers (1200-1254 ), the seventh Earl of Derby, and I have rectified the error, when visiting Merevale Church in 2004.
Knowing the pigheadedness and arrogance of the English, nothing has been done yet about this serious error.

There are two further examples of sinful ( slander is as sinful as murder ), criminal malignity by certain Anglo-Saxon quarters who have anachronistically kept on their ancient barbaric feuds against anything Latin not having anything to do with Constantinianism or religious belief, in virtue of the Latin roots of the Ferrers’ surname which does not make them Constantinian or less English than most Anglo-Saxon mongrels. The 65 heraldic panels at Tamworth Castle prove the antiquity, nobility and integration of the Ferrers with the best in the the British Islands and supply any ethnic qualification anyone in the British Islands may wish to claim as prerequisites for a claim to be British or English, keeping in mind that the English are latecomers to these islands, in the same way the Ferrers may have been.
I say ‘may’ as there is evidence the de Ferrariis of Normandy and Brittany had been intermarrying with the Britons even before the Romans were compelled to evacuate the British Islands, centuries before the Angles, the Jutes, the danes, etc. etc. invaded England.
The two examples are of the nature of slander resulting from attributing to the Ferrers killings which were perpetrated by their next of kin by marriage.
One was the killing of a Catholic Priest by a Brome, the father-in- law of a Ferrers. According to the jealous husband, the Priest had been taking some liberties with hs wife. The killing was pardoned by the Pope and the penance was the addition of a storey to the bell-tower of the local Church. The other was the shooting of a provoking, disrespectful steward by a Shirley ( ancient Saxon surname: Siwalis ) who had acquired the use of the Ferrers’ surname in virtue of descendance from an anscestor who had married a Ferrers only heiress.
When it came to crime the Ferrers’ surname was used in preference to the principal one. Please note that in both cases the people involved had Anglo-Saxon surnames.

19. Of Celts, Romans, Moslems and Hebrews.

Premise-:My political/historical/religious articles must be understood in the spirit of Galatians 3:28.
This map ( Not shown. Research under "La Tenee" ), shows the Celtic Civilisation geographical distribution in Europe in ca. 500 BC ( it probably began to coalesce in 900 BC as the waves of celtic migrants arrived and settled in Central Europe, between the Rhine and the Elbe rivers, which had begun migrating from Turkmenistan in ca. 4,000 BC) until the Romans who where a celtic/mediterranean racial mix, but still an essentially celtic offshoot, were compelled to confront the La Tenee Civilisation and to absorb it in a struggle for survival.
What favourably characterises the ancient Celts ( a present day Irish or Scot is not necessarily a Celt ) as a people of profound wisdom, hence my choice of them in this article as an example in history, is their willingness to co-operate with the Romans once defeated, rather than continue in an evil of feuding, revenge and eternal blood-letting like the semitic people ( mutually related Arabs and Jews) appear to indulge in to their continuous damage in the face of an angry and despairing God/jehovah/Allah ( See the Old Testament).
In order to understand the Romans' predicament and their determination to win, consider that, behind/beyond the Celts there were all the steppe people pressurising the Celts, including the Goths their relatives, who however moved to the Baltic/Scandinavian territories, from which they returned to the Continent around the beginning of the first millennium, after overpopulating Scandinavia ( in relation to the limited resources of those nordic climates in the limited economies of those times), predominating over the steppe people until the arrival of the Huns in ca. 350 AD. The Franks then became the predominant race in France, until 900 AD. Etc. etc. So, history not only shows we all have been migrants of some sort, at some time in history and that progress is not only a matter of struggle but also and mostly of co-operation, the one who is the best at synthetising what is good in all cultures coming out on top. You pig-headed asses of the semitic races of Jews and Arabs have been feuding for 6,000 years and one day we in the West shall have to say, with God’s blessings-: " Enough is enough! ".
Have you got any common sense at all ?
No, what a bad neighbour does affects all since we are living in a global environment!
Intervention is necessary!
So, dear modern, baby-faced Pinocchios utopia-dreamers, pseudo socialists, etc. theoreticians of freedom without duties, a multitude in the West, shut up, please and use your biased constitutions as toilet paper.
I tend to consider the West at present
---- in contrast to the Anglo-Saxon pseudo-christian churches, there is an infinity of these mongrels all prophesising in a negative way that is the expression of anglo-saxon megalomaniac self-delusion and moral failure----
as a transformation of the Roman Empire, as a Federation of the western people who have been able through progress to see themselves more as a Commomwealth than as an Empire, as a conglomeration of good-willing people and races desiring good, however still imperfectly so, because of greed and corruption, endemic to humankind.
Jewish anger, feuding and vengeance
----accumulated and fanned since 70 AD when the Romans, who were also working for the good, albeit handicapped by human limitations, limited communications and resources in the face of the overwhelming multitude of Barbarians and the malice of un-co-operative opponents like the Hebrews, for example, in a still bestial world deprived of the Christian light, got fed up with their non-co-operation and dispersed the Jews over the Diaspora with God's blessings------
has sapped and destroyed much of western pride and consciousness of roman links but this smearing propaganda in which everyone is bad except the Hebrew or the Anglo-Saxon, is sadly backfiring onto them now as they have got locked into the Islamic confrontation that is extremely provoking and exceedingly revengful and does not allow for moderate reprisals and reactions. They are reaping what they have sawn with their cunning and devious Propaganda that has never recognised or admitted Provocation.
The lesson to be learned about Propaganda is that it is a double-edged sword and that there is a Commandment against "falsely accusing and witnessing against your neighbour " whether this be the Romans or the Germans. I am not saying that the Romans and the Germans have been free from blame, but that there is a time when Propaganda becomes "murderous", blinding the propagandist as to its own behaviour equally or even more culpable owing to a total disregard by the Propaganda of the paramount element of Provocation.
History shows that Romans, Germans, Arabs, Hebrews were all provoked.
The solution are to be found in recognising the Provocations and placing a stop to these. At the same time cultures with a history of feuding, revenge and violence must seek their own reformation or be annihilated as mad dogs are.
I am however, as a Christian and a Celtic-Roman morally and historically superior to these middle-eastern mongrels, since I am prepared to accept and support the maintenance of Israel in the Middle East, as Israel appears to be co-operating to-day, for the time-being, with historical reality, first of all as the humanitarian necessity of the Hebrew people for a Nation of their own, 1.5 million displaced moslem Palestinians being a relocateable people, within Israel itself, if they were only willing to consider, as they are bound to do when migrating to a western, non-theocratic nation such as Australia, as an example, their religious/cultural differences as secondary to those of a social, historical, political nature that they should be prepared/willing to share in common with their isreali kinspeople in a Federal State of Non-Theocratic Israel ( the same considerations to apply to the Israeli, mutually). Moslems must cease from their religious obsessions and theocratic dreams and co-operate with the rest of the world as God created and loves all without discrimination.
See Malachi 2:10-:
" Is it not one father that all of us have? Is it not one God that has created us? Why is it that we deal treacherously with one another, in profaning the covenant of our forefathers?"
The only true reality proven by history is the message of
Jesus of Nazareth
( see Paul of Tarsus), whom Zechariah, the hereditary holder of the Most High Priestly-status in Israel, John the Baptist's father, Jesus' uncle, has presented to us as being born from Mary by the Holy Spirit.
The Palestinians are not the only and the first people to loose their lands. I am sorry for their losses and about the unfortunate events leading to this, but the deed cannot be reversed unless Israel adopts Communism and abolishes private property, which may be a good idea. Bolshevick Russia, Fidel Castro, the French Revolution, the Reconquesta of Spain in 1450, wars deprived millions of their possessions, in the name of fate and history. My anscestors had Castles and lands all over Europe once. Before the Conquests by Islam in 700 AD, the Greeks owned Palestine. Where are all their Titles of Ownership? Palestinians complain the Israeli destroyed their Titles, but where are the Byzantinians ones? One reaps what one saws.
And before the Byzantinian ones where are the Roman ones?
And before the Roman ones where are the Titles of Ownership of the ancient Hebrews?
This is history.
The Palestinians must learn to adapt and to co-operate with fate and history. God tests us as to our willingness to renounce goods. So begin to do some productive and constructive work instead of devising ways to sabotage and de-stabilise your neighbours an spend all your budget on weapons like Mr. Saddam Hussein used to.
A secondary consideration for the support of Israel is, that the West cannot trust an Islam that is uncompromising as to its duty to a gracious, holy acceptance and recognition of a Nation that is different from Islam only in so far as Islam’s present leaders wish it to be different, aiming as Islam does to the total annihilation of Israel, the total blotting out of the name of an entire Nation, somethingt that Islam has already done in several instances in history, since 650 AD, and to a predominance in the Near and Middle East ( since 1945) that looks very dangerous, menacing and suspicious to those of us in the West, who are not psicotic saboteurs or traitors, blind, stupid, or total ignoramus, against the scenario of a world that must become de facto global as it is by nature so, to survive global-warming and the stupidity of human kind.
Hear Malachi again at 3:5-:
" And I will come near to you people for the judgment, and I will become a speedy witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against those swearing falsely, and against those acting fraudulently with the wages of a wage worker, with the widow and with the fatherless boy,
and those turning away the alien resident,
while they have not feared me, Jehovah of armies has said."
However, we in the West must get back our pride and consciousness of our traditional links to Rome and Greece, and if possible to Christianity, if we wish to remain united and to confront our primitive, barbaric opponents and to survive their primitive and unreformed barbarisms.
La’, ila la’, illaa Allaah!

18. Two De Ferrarii Coat of Arms from the 100+ Collection.

See Post 27............... striking, magnificent, De Ferrarii (  Ferreri, Ferrari.......) Coat of Arms from the 100+ Collection, on Blogger's Blog Ferrarii Clan./.........................

18. The Red Prendragon Of Wales, a Roman Symbol.

The  Red   Prendragon  Of   Wales,  a  Roman   Symbol.

A devotional statue dedicated to the humble saint Francis of Assisi in the Church
at Higham-Ferrers, Northamptonshire, U.K.

The Franciscan tradition has been very strong in England in the Middle Ages, more so than the Dominican one which rose to pre-eminence in the Continent. Most english theologians ( Grosseteste,  Dun  Scotus, etc.),   de Montfort the Earl of Leicester, the great leader of the Westminster and Oxford Determinations butchered after his defeat at Evesham, the founder of the modern scientific method Sir Francis Bacon were affiliated   to the franciscan  social movement.
St. Alban, in the dress of a high roman official.
Glass-work in the Church at Higham-Ferrers, Northamptonshire, U.K.

(Although of the Anglican Faith, the roman tradition is valued, commemorated and respected in this area of England and reflected by the local people's behaviour and gentility).

St. Columban, in the dress of a roman catholic Bishop.
Glass-work in the Church at Higham-Ferrers in Northamptonshire, U.K.

Although of the Anglican Faith, the roman tradition is valued, commemorated and respected in this part of England somehow contributing to the gentility of behaviour of the local population.

The Syon Cope, located at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

It shows the Arms of the Order of Knights-Templar to which were affiliated
the most representative and powerful families of the Midlands, among which the
de Ferrers, Lord Tutburie, Earl of Derby were perhaps the most powerful  at  the  time   when   the  Sion  Cope   was   produced   and   used  in  worship..
The de Ferrers had by this time married into the bloodline of Robert Bruce
the King of Scotland, who was to offer sanctuary to the Order of the Knights-Templar when their Order was going to be disbanded after the death of Edward I.   This must have been highly unacceptable to the Plantagenets who had been coveting the Earldom of Derby and the honour of Tutburie since the times of King John.
However the whole story cannot be told here.

Central Section of Original Panel drawn by the blogger, a composition from the Bayeux Tapestry and the Syon Cope( a lithurgical priestly vestment with links to the Order of Knights-Templar supported by the powerful families of the Midlands in the times ofKing Edward I [1272-1307] who was married to Eleanor, the sister of Ferdinand III, King of Castille and Leon [ hence the presence of his Arms on the Syon Cope]. The Kingdom of Aragon had not yet been joined to Spain  then.

A section of a Study by the blogger for a Panel which is a composition based on both the Bayeux Tapestry and the Syon Cope located at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

The Bayeux Tapestry.

Frame 56-: Harold's Army is cut to pieces.
(An attentive and close inspection shows both the red Pendragon of Wales and the fallen Golden Dragon of Harold's Anglo-Saxon Army. )
(Note-: This blogger appears to be the first modern viewer to have noticed these details.)

Views of the principal Church at Higham-Ferrers in Eastern Northamptoshire.

The Pendragon, symbol of Wales.

Both the Pendragon of Wales and the alternative Golden Dragon of the Anglo--Saxons led by Harold, are shown in the above scene from the Bayeux Tapestry.
The red Dragon was the ancient sign of a roman legion which had resided for some time in England during the Roman occupation of that island. It was eventually adopted by Arthur the romanised Celtic King and taken over by Wales.
Question-: Does the presence of the Pendragon of Wales biting Harold's squire's lance indicate that a contingent of welsh archers was on William the Conqueror's side?

The original Art Work of the Pendragon shown here has pride of location in the Vestry of the principal Church in Higham-Ferrers, Nottinghamshire, which also shows fairly recent glass-windows ( ca. WWII) portraying St. Albanus as a high-ranking roman Officer and St Columban the Celtic missionary as a Roman Catholic Bishop. It also has a beautiful wooden statue of St. Francis of Assisi.

It was photographed by the amazed blogger during his visit to this town in 2004. This town is also twinned with a german Town.

Good on You oh good-willing people of Higham-Ferrers!

May Jehovah bless you all!

What a contrast to the people of Staffordshire and elsewhere in England for their shameful treatment of Ferrers' monuments and memories!

17. Various on the Ferrers Monuments at Merevale......

Note-: See Post 23 The Ferrers,Templars,Merevale,Staffordshire,Nothamptonshire, Rutland in Ferrarii Clan./............. for photos.

The Syon Cope.
I have become aware of the existence of this priestly liturgical vestment 10 years ago, when looking into the history of the british/norman Ferrers searching for their armorial distinctions and honours, as I was then collecting all known Arms of all families with a surname rooted in the latin verb: fero-tuli-latum-ferre, in order to prove my thesis of their common origins in the period preceding the Dark Ages, i.e., prior to 1000 A.D.
The Syon Cope was mentioned in C.Wilfrid Scott-Giles, The Romance of Heraldry , J.M.Dent & Sons Ltd., London 1929 and in W.H. ST John Hope, A Grammar of English Heraldry, Cambridge, 1953.
After unsuccessfully attempting to obtain a colour photo, I decided to have a look at it at the Victoria & Albert Museum, in the occasion of my trip to Europe in 2004.

Nobody appears to have been for centuries or to be aware to-day of the links between the Syon Cope and the Order of the Knights- Templar, which had originally been known, when founded by Geoffrey de Bouillon, as the Order of Syon. The Cope is semicircular being worn by the Roman Catholic Priest who used it during Masses behind and around his torso, clasped in front on his breast It is embroidered to a higher standard than the Bayeux Tapestry with religious icons from the Gospels the central one of which is about the Crucifixion. It prominently shows St Peter and St. Paul and is very orthodox from a theological point of view. However at the top of the Crucifixion there is an icon showing a Crowned Lady at the left ( of the Priest wearing the Cope with his back to us) and a blessing Glorified Jesus, similarly Crowned on the right, both sitting, looking at one another. The crowned Lady could be either Mary the mother or St. Mary Magdalene, whom some believe married Jesus and shares with him the Lordship given Him by the celestial Father Jehovah. The Lady is holding her left hand up as if preaching. The border along its diameter shows 14 fairly large, easily discernible Coat of Arms a series of smaller ones filling the border of the Cope along the semi-circumference.
The 14 Arms are, beginning from the right of the Cope-: Clifford, Despencer, Order of Knights-Templar, Despencer, Clifford, Geneville, Robert Ferrers the 8th Earl of Derby (1241-1279 ) [ circular pattern of Arms ], Castile & Leon ( this dates the Cope since it commemorates the marriage of King Edward I ( 1272-1307 ) to Eleanor, the sister of Ferdinand III the King of Castile &Leon, when Spain was still not joined to Aragon and Catalonia ), Warwick, (unknown ), William Ferrers, the 5th Earl of Derby who died at Acre in ca, 1194-97 [ lozenge-shaped Arms, perhaps signifying his status a deceased], definitely a crusading Knight-Templar of the Order of Knights-Templar, William Ferrers' lozenge-ashaped Arms again, ( the same unknown Arms previously mentioned). Ferrers' Arms are also discernible among the smaller ones located on the semi-circumference of the Cope.
Dating shows the Cope was in use during the reign of King Edward I and the life of Robert Ferrers the 8th Earl. of Derby. It shows a link between powerful families of the Midlands and between these and the Order of the Knight-Templars. One should also note that at the time of King Edward I, although the Spanish Reconquesta had not yet begun, i.e., that large and determined drive that the united Spain of Elisabeth of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon was to generate during the next century for the liberation of the Spanish territories under Islamic domination, yet Spain already constituted an alternative crusading frontier and the opportunity to acquire honour, wealth and indulgences for past sins if not even eternal life, for Knights from all over Europe. This is how, for example, branches of the spanish Ferrer, Ferrari, Ferrero, Ferrero', Ferrante, etc. originated from migrating british/norman knights from Britain, breton/norman from Brittany ( France ), british/norman from Scotland ( especially after the dissolution of the Order of Knight-Templars in 1300 ), other knights from Languedoc, Provence, etc.
The various families of the Gens Ferreria (Ferraria ) Clan, then existing in most parts of western Europe, collected a total of more than 100 Coat of Arm, which may appear one day in the Book I have been writing about the Clan, a unique occurrence in the Heraldic History of Europe, certainly worthy of the Guinnes Book of Records. The best comic character ( french cartoons ) who would better and more closely portrey in a satirical mode, a typical Ferreri ( Ferrari ) knight whose fighting prowess would have been forged in the days of the gallic struggles against the Romans, would be the french Asterix ( a Breton like most Ferrarii ) with his fat squire Obelisk. The Book's Title sounds funny as it hints at Julius Caesar's imaginary ( probably also historically true as the Bretons from Vannes gave him tremendous problems; finally forcing him to deport the whole tribe to Venetia in Italy [ modern Veneti from Vannes], not to mention the great hero Vercingetorix ) vexation with the continuous harassment received from Asterix and Obelisk -: " Veni, vidi, vici, ...............................who shall rid me from these ubiquitous and pugnatious Ferrarii......?"

I am loking for an expresion of interest from Publishers and for supporters of the Gens Ferreria ( Ferraria) to join as Members.
( send me an e-mail at gensferreria@bigpond.com ).

Coat of Arms of Sir William Ferrers, Lord Tutburie, the 5th Earl of Derby, a crusading Knight-Templar, who died in the operations during the siege of Acre in Palestine, in c. 1194-1197, serving his heavenly Lord Jesus Christ under his earthly liege Lord, King Richard I, the Lion Heart.
His knight-effigy carved in the Templars' manner, correctly identified by me in June 2004, is located in the Church of Our Lady of Merevale, Staffordshire and is similar to the one of Sir Geoffrey de Mandeville, his coeval companion-in-arms, located at the Temple Church in London.

The   Templars' Arms embroidered on the Syon Cope ( produced during the reign of King Edward I: 1272-1307 ) at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London-:

On a red field, (i) A gold Agnus Dei ( Lamb of God/ Paschal Lamb ), passant, regardant carrying a banner showing a red, square Latin Cross on silver field, (ii) A red Templar Cross at top, (iii) A silver crescent at bottom, representing St. Mary Magdalene, (iv) Rising and lowering golden Suns. All crosses are red on silver. Divided banneret is black at bottom and silver at top, these being the liverie colours of the Priestly House of St. Mary Magdalene, and incidentally, also of the Ferrarii of Ferrieres-st.Hilaire in Evreux, Normandy, where the Breton/Norman origins of the Ferrers of Derby are located.

Motto-: " Beau Seant", signifying, in my personal opinion, the Sage of Ages ( The Good Seater ).
Gardner says that Beauceant ( alternatively Baussant ) refers to the black and silver checkered war-banner of the Knight-Templars, which is also represented by the checkered design of tiled pavements in Templar churches. The black and silver represent the relationship between enlightenment and ignorance, between Darkness and Light.

The "blogger" has arbitrarily added supporters representing two great Knight-Templars, i.e., The much maligned and sabotaged Earl of Pembroke, Sir William Mareshall, the legendary winner of 500 tourneaments, and Sir Geoffrey De Mandeville * , the richest man in the England of his age and at some time a Master of the Order, as shown by a device on his shield, the eight- pointed rose of lilies ( I believe it was called "The Carbuncle") referring to the Sumerian links of christianity. I have broken the Rules, by showing the Arms of the Mandeville in my composition, since, crusading-knight-Templars were forbidden heraldic displays as a sign of humility and detachment from the World. Since a Master of the Order could display the "Carbuncle", a Templar symbol, it would have been more appropriate to have shown this symbol on Mandevile's shield. Sir William Mareshall, although an on and off Knight-Templar has never been a Crusader. His effigy in the temple court at the Temple in London does not show his legs in a walking crossed motion. Sir Geoffrey de Mandeville was a companion of Sir William Ferrers, the 5th Earl of Derby, both knight effigies being strikingly similar and using the same grey marble, the former located at the Temple-Court-Templar-Church in London, the latter at the Gate Church of Our Lady of Merevale, Staffordshire, vandalised during the destruction of the Abbey-Monastery of Merevale ordered by King Henry VIII, the welsh Boar and royal glutton and fornicator par excellence . All members and the families of those affiliated to the Order of Knight-Templars have been victimised and maliciously sabotaged one way or another by pseudo-christians.

I am rising in their defence! Beware of the wrath of God!

A Short History of the Order of Knights-Templar.
( According to Sir Laurence Gardner's utterances.)
There may have been four branches of the messianic-related Sacred Line of the Holy Grail Kings ( S.L.H.G.K ), merging, evolving and maturing one into the other in the course of time in the history of post-roman Europe. The most ancient is reputed to be the one that resulted from the migrations of Celtic and Gothic tribes from Asia Minor, the Celtic tribes gradually moving toward Europe through the Balkanic regions, following the chain of the Alps into North Italy, Austria, Switzerland the Rhone Valley etc. and eventually reaching Ireland, leaving pockets of their own people in various parts of Europe. One of the leaders of these Celtic tribes had married a Jewish/Egiptian Princess of the line of the biblical Joseph the Vizier of Egypt and the hereditary Chief of the hebrew tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim. In Ireland this celtic leader ( wrongly identified by Gardner as a Scythian ) had become the pre-eminent and predominant force in the Irish Royal Lineage. Moreover, at the same time that St. Mary Magdalene was landing in France, Jesus' brother, James, who had inherited the family traditional title of Arimathea when Jesus had become both the Messiah, the King as well as the Zadok High Priest ( Melchizedek the High Priest mentioned in both Genesis and Hebrews), when his cousin John the Baptist had died without issue, landed in England with his daughter who married into one of the predominant british royal houses. The royal line established by Mary Magdalene would be the most close to Jesus and this is why the Magdalene has had such a hold on the respect and veneration of people who held, believed and hoped in these traditions, in the midst of the chaos and anarchy prevailing in Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire of the West, between 400 and 1000 A.D. ( In my opinion, the West is to-day slowly moving toward a scenario of chaos and calamities similar to the one that engulfed western Europe in the days of the Fall of the Roman Empire of the West and the only available traditions capable to remotivate and determinate the West to avert total disaster are the return to those of the S.L.H.G.K. whether true or false is immaterial as nothing certain can be absolutely proved pro or contra. Their power is symbolic and as Paul Tillich argues in the Dynamics of Faith, let no one underestimate the power of symbols. Unfortunately the symbol of the Cross has been abused and although still the most powerful on earth, ancillary and homely ones are also required, those that made the Templars into the most formidable fighting force of their times ).

St. Mary Magdalene had, according to a strong tradition a daughter and two boys, from her marriage to Jesus of Nazareth, all marrying royal scions of the Merovingian dynasty in Gaul.
The branch that is responsible for the rise and development of the Order of the Knights-Templar, was led by the Prophet Jeremiah, the son of Hilkias, a priest at Anath, who became the high priest of Jerusalem and discovered the Book of the Law ( what had existed so far of the Scriptures or Old Testament, i.e., the Pentateuch ), that had been secreted in the Temple. This migration of exalted Hebrew personalities of Holy-Grail- relevance occurred to Ireland in the days of Zedekiah the King of Judah (598-586 B.C.) who died a captive of the Babylonians, after having been blinded and witnessed all his sons being murdered by order of King Nebuchadnezzar. The history of the Phoenicians, of the Hebrews and later of the Carthaginians shows in fact commercial links between the Middle-East and North Africa to Ireland and Wales for the acquisition of Tin which was essential to the production of Bronze. Since the Age of Bronze is prior to the one of Iron, one can see the antiquity of these links.
The only survivor of the Royal Family had in fact been a daughter of Zedekiah, called Tamar . Jeremiah the Prophet, who was also the captain of Hilkiah's Temple Guards had been able to hide the Sacred Ark of the Covenant, the documents concerning all alchemical knowledge related to the use of the Ark, the Tablets of the Testimony ( I quote from Gardner-: "Inscribed on these [the stone tables received on the Mountain of Sinai by Moses] were the Tables of the Testimony ......... the Cosmic Equation-: The divine law of number, measure and weight. The mystical art of reading the inscriptions was achieved by the cryptic system of the Cabbala ". Unquote) and of all apparatus used in the manipulations of gold in order to produce mono-atomic gold-powder, etc., a great deal of the Royal Treasure ( 140 tons of precious metals ) together with other historical and religious documents under the foundations of the Temple of Solomon. Jeremiah made an accurate record of the location and formed a secret Order of the Temple which held the record in custody for 1700 years until the opportunity to go to Jerusalem and the authority to excavate the site of the Temple and to retrieve the Cache was made available by the Crusade in which took part a highly positioned member of the Order, by then called The Jerusalem Order or Order of Syon, the crusading King Geoffrey ( Godefroi ) de Bouillon, Duke of Lower Lorraine, of Merovigian descent, a fact that qualified him as a member of the S.L.H.G.K. ( His ancestors had survived Charlemagne's jealousie and persecution of all Merovingian princes ).
The reorganisation of the Order of Syon into that of the Knights-Templar had been inspired in 1099 by St. Bernard de Clairvaux, known as the Cluniac ( from Burgundy ) reformer of the Orders of the Benedectines ( founded in 529 by St. Benedict ) and of the Cistercian Monks ( founded in 1098 ). The Order of the Knights-Templar became in fact a de-facto lay-branch of the Cistercian Order, sharing the same Rule of St. Benedict modified to suit soldiers and military-technicians belonging to the Order of Knight-Templars mainly in so far as diet was concerned.
St. Bernard, a noble, belonged to the closed circle of nobles belonging to the Order of Syon and knew about the Temple-secrets/documents/treasures and wished these brought to Europe.
Godefroi died in 1100 and was succeeded as King of Jerusalem by his brother Baudouin II du Bourg, who established The Order of the Templar Grand Knights of St. Andrew in 1118, also called The Guardian Princes of the Royal Secret. Other similar Orders were also founded in order to establish redundancy and survival. This is why Europe may be even to-day in good hands. Tamar married Ard Ri' ( High King of Ireland ) Eochaid, ancestor of Ugaine Mar ( Ugaine the Great ). The Irish Royal Line eventually moved to Scotland with the Sacred Stone of Scone( Jacob's Pillow ) So the irish/scottish/pictish kings considered themselves the descendants of King Zedekiah of Judah.
The Dugdale, although having the right as the owners of the Farms, and the re-builders of the Gate-House to display their Coat of Arms on it, have arrogantly and insultingly neglected, thus severely lacking in courtesy and scholarship, to commemorate the Ferrers who have always been their superiors in rank and social status and who donated the original lands of the Abbey-Monastery, then known as the Forest of Arden, also causing the great Abbey to be built and endowed. Ignorance cannot be their excuse since their anscestor Sir William Dugdale the author of Antiquities of Warwichshire reports this historical fact.
In my opinion, the Dugdale are feloniously neglecting to replace all heraldic commemorations of the Ferrers inside the Church as these wear out with the passing of time. Since they have made enormous gains by selling all the stones left on the lands as the result of the destruction of the Abbey, not even leaving the foundations, a crime against history and culture, they should at least have the courtesy and good-will to maintain some vestiges of heraldic recognition.
Commemorative, heraldic tiles and glass-windows are abandoned without a minimum of maintenance or replacement. The foul-attitude of King Henry VIII, the great boar of Wales, great royal glutton and fornicator, appears to foul all Staffordshire.
Tutburie Castle and Tutburie Church ( built by the Ferrers and supposed to hold the mortal remains of the first Ferrers, a companion of William the Conqueror) central places in Ferrers' history, lack commemoration of their existence and historical contributions. Yet the Ferrers were affiliated to the order of Knigh-Templars from its very foundation until beyond its disbandment, since Ferrers Knight-Templars seeked protection in Scotland with King Bruce differentiating their surname to Farrar, Farrars, Ferrars, Ferrier, etc.
The town of Duffield on the border between Staffordshire and Derbyshire is an example of good-willed people since the ruins of Duffield-Castle still show at least their foundations, the stones of which have not been pilfered by King Henry VIII's sycophants & crawlers and the hill is still commemorated by a sign by the National Trust which does justice to the Ferrers.
A difference can also be felt in neighbouring Northamptonshire, where historical monuments were under current repair in 2004, see Post on Pendragon ad Higham-Ferrers.
Rutland ( a small shire of people with small minds ad hearts) should be called perhaps Ratland. The people of Rutland recently decided to remove from the name of the city, called since ca. 1200 A.D. Oackam-Ferrers, the Ferrers-distinction. Being ignorant clowns, they however neglected to remove from the Shire Arms the obvious Ferrers' horse shoe and oack symbols. Also they are still getting tourists' money by showing the horse-shoe-tithes paid to their Ferrers' overlords by passers by, in a variety of sizes and metals, all held in an ancient granary, built by the Ferrers.
I shake the dust of their Shire from my sandals lest it pollutes me!

The Drama at the Abbey of Merevale.
The knight-effigy of Sir William Ferrers, Lord Tutbury, the 5th Earl of Derby ( died at Acre in 1194-97 A.D.) is located inside the Gate-Church of Our Lady of Merevale, which is the only original structure left from the destruction of the imposing Abbey/Monastery ordered by King Henry VIII ( the welsh boar ), the Gate House having been rebuilt later-on by the Dugdale family ( who probably courted favour with Henry VIII for personal gain and aggrandisement, acquiring lands at Merevale ) in order to enclose the rich farming grounds developed on the ancient Abbey-grounds ( originally known in their wild undeveloped state as the Forest of Arden ) donated to the Cistercians by the third generation of british/morman Ferrers in Britain, later-on grabbed by King Henry VIII. Incidentally, the Ferrers remained faithful to their ancient and original Faith of Roman Catholicism, without subscribing to its southern excesses, aberrations and distortions. To them this was also a matter of ancestral loyalty and continuity that alone can ensure a healthy and civilized state of being. One should in fact not betray one's native Faith but try to reform it from the inside, if not happy with it, leaving the final move to God. What the Protestants have really achieved is the weakening through its fragmentation, of Christianity and consequently of the western civilization, a fact for which we are probably all be going to suffer in the end, if further breackdown in our civilization shall occur, God perhaps willing it to be so in order to rebuild it. In fact, it is highly probable that one of Henry VIII's motivations, in destroying these Cistercian-Abbeys, linked as these were to the knights-Templar's Order, was the search for hidden treasures and scriptural documents of the type Sir Laurence Gardner refers to in his books on the Sacred Line of the Holy-Grail-Kings to which Henry VIII also belonged, however in a madly, undeserving and treacherous liaison ( He was a highly bastardized, defective-mix of saxon and other barbaric strains ). His main motivation in attacking the uncompromising ( in his case ) Roman Catholic Church centered on his desperate desire to procreate a male heir [ he placed the blame for failure on his wives whom he had judicially murdered], hopelessly so, since his reproductive system had been damaged from syphilis and debauchery, and only female-children could survive, however condemned to infertility. The church ( actually a chapel ) is now inside the Gate-House but had originally been outside it, to be used by common visitors of the Abbey/Monastery.

The effigy has been incorrectly identified in the past, and I suspect the possibility of malice in this failure as I intend to explain, resulting from surviving anti-Ferrers feelings elicited by the events at Merevale, in the times of Henry VIII. First of all, the effigy has been mutilated, its head and legs having been broken off The description of its identity contained in the small white rectangle of cardboard visible in the photo shown below, reads -:
"The 13th Century knight is presumed to be William, Earl Ferrers of Chartley, who died in St. Neots after a fall from his bier in 1254".

My identification is-:
"The 12th Century knight is presumed to be William Ferrers, the 5th Earl of Derby, a crusading knight-Templar who died at the siege of Acre in ca. 1194-97, in the service of his liege King Richard I (The Lion Heart )".
My identification centers on the striking similarity between William, the 5th Earl of Derby's effigy and the one of Geoffrey de Mandeville. The two effigies must have been made by the same artist, since William and Geoffrey lived at the same time prior to the struggles for Magna Carta. It is almost certain ( as shown by the Templar symbolic language used in the carving of his effigy, which is the same as that visible in William's effigy ) that Mandeville also participated in the same Crusade held by Richard I, in which William had participated, Mandeville returning however to Britain to lead the Barons' struggles against King John for Magna Carta.
The lack of a reference to the fact the effigy is of a crusading knight Templar, is clearly an injustice ( not to be imputed to the present Rector ) owing to the failure to make explicit the symbolic message which is the fundamental goal of the effigy and the desire, expectation and last will of the dead knight, either through ignorance ( I cannot believe it could be ignorance as this would reflect poorly on English scholarship and archeological circles which are supposed to be outstanding when it suits them and their hostorical distortions and misrepresentations ) or malice ( as the result of the Drama at Merevale and the lingering-on tradition of slight, insult and general ill-will generated in the past against this noble family I intend to defend, so help me God Almighty! I have also witnessed expressions of good-will and memories towards the Ferrers in other Counties such as for example at Higham-Ferrers in Nottinghamshire and at Tutburie on the border with Derbyshire where Ferrers-schools are still being funded through ancient Ferrers's grants. One criterion to judge the quality of the ancient administration of a County is by looking at the quality of housing built in those ancient times and the Ferrers' places are outstanding in this respect. So, lay-off will you? By rights William's effigy should be located among those of his piers and Templar-brethren at the London Temple Court Church, however the scenario at Merevale is so beautiful and magic that I might agree it should remain there. However heraldic recognition and commemoration should be displayed inside the church, which I suggested to authorities but was discouraged through a total lack of response. Arrogant parvenus!
The identification on the effigy is also wrongly worded, as Chartley has never been linked to the Eardom of Derby which was lost to the Crown, through the rebellion of the 8th and last Earl, Robert in the struggle for the Dispensations of Westminster and Oxford which paved the way later-on to the institution of Parliament. Chartley and Groby were subsequently linked to newly acquired Baronies which allowed the Ferrers to continue as active members of the English nobility, until to-day. The fall at St.Neots' bridge occurred when William the 7th Earl of Derby, who suffered from gouts, had in his old age to be carried around on a chair. Mentioning such a trivial matter is ridiculous, malicious, and belittling ( a tabloid hit ) since it shows a desire to draw attention to the genetic ailment that afflicted the 6th, the 7th and the 8th Earls in their old age. Gout is just a form of arthritis and yes, diet influences these ailments. So what? Why not rather mention the fact that he had married in St.Thomas' in Canterbury or that he had gone to the Holy Land in pilgrimage with the Earl of Chester in 1218?
I found another similar slur on the Ferrers on a walking guide for the Midlands, sold at the Bookshop at Coventry Cathedral. In relation to the Manor at Baddesley-Clinton in Warwickshire, acquired by the Ferrers through a marriage to the heiress of the Broome family, it so happened that the Broome father-in-law killed a Priest he had judged to have found in a compromising scene with his wife. The book misreported the event stating the Ferrers-son-in-law had done so. Another such instance of malice is the famous trial by his piers and punishment by public hanging of a Ferrers in the eighteenth century, known in Law as the Ferrers-case, guilty of having shot one of his stewards. By then, the Ferrers' surname and titles had been passed on to and through several houses by Ferrers-female heiresses. The murderer had in fact been principally a Shirley, secondarily a Ferrers, yet his secondary surname became sacrificially linked with the case in preference to the principal one ( the Shirley had originally been a skilled and gifted saxon family of millers, employed by the Ferrers, called Siwalis who began their social climb from the times of William the Conqueror on the Ferrers' back, gradually becoming squires, knight, etc., one of their branches to-day sitting in the House of Lords with the title of Earl Ferrers, newly created in 1711 as a recognition of the wisdom and justice in the commemoration of this legendarily great historical surname ). These apparently trivial issues are indicative of some malice directed to this great and noble family, a malice which is unworthy of the british character and tradition, which is gradually disappearing from the fabric of our democratic societies, including our Australian one.
I have mentioned my findings to several authorities in the U.K.( I even wrote to the BBC ) and have been totally ignored, without even the benefit of the courtesy of an acknowledgment of the receival of my message. I also wrote to the Department of Medieval History at the Melbourne University without any answer at all. What sort of persons are we dealing with to-day? These persons should be handed a pick and shovel and sent to work the fields where they belong. Apparently this is what most English archeologists love to do. Leave the fine intellectual work and judgment to inspired amateurs like me! After all the discoverer of the ruins of Troy and of the jewels of the Court of Priamus was a german amateur called Shliemann!
The fact that such an outstanding and noble monument such as William's effigy is, could be so easily neglected and misrepresented makes one wonder how many times this must have happened in history to documents, scriptural documents, the characters of persons with a high value and worth as referential witnesses, historical facts, events and scenarios, etc. This lends strength to our dear Sir Laurence Gardner's utterings, disclosures and warnings about the human person who was Jesus of Nazareth.

Sir Geoffrey de Mandeville, the Earl of Essex.
(drawing by Stothard of de Mandeville's knight-effigy located at the London Temple- Court Church ).

He was a Knight-Templar who led, together with the Saire de Quincy the struggle of the british/norman Barons for Magna Carta against King John. He lived at the same time as Sir William Ferrers, Lord Tutbury, the 5th Earl of Derby, whose knight-effigy, strikingly similar to Mandeville's, probably made by the same artist, is located at the Gate-Church of Our Lady of Merevale. Sir William died between 1194 and 1197 in the operations around Acre, in the Holy Land, serving under King Richard the Lion Heart.
De Mandeville was confused by Stothard and is being confused by many present historians with his ancestor Sir Geoffrey de Magnaville who lived in the times of William the Conqueror ( Mentioned in a document reported by Sir William Dugdale).

Please Note-: The blogger claims the distinction to have discovered in May 2004 the true identity as a crusading Knight-Templar of the Ferrers-knight, a companion of Sir Geoffrey de Mandeville and the Sair De Quincy, represented in the knight-effigy at Merevale, Staffordshire, Britain.
Knight-Effigy of Sir William Ferrers, Lord Tutburie, the 5th Earl of Derby, crusading Knight-Templar, who died at Acre, Palestine in ca. 1197 A.D. fighting for his heavenly master Jesus under his earthly liege Lord King Richard I the Lion-Heart.
The effigy is located inside the Gate-Church of Our Lady of Merevale, the only original building surviving from the barbaric destruction of the Cistercian Abbey-Monastery of Merevale.

The destruction has been so felonious that even the foundation stones have disappeared and sold. Until 1800 a gothic arch remained but even that was disposed-off by the owners.
The general conspiracy by the petty, local, usurping, grasping and buccaneering nobility of this area is still proceeding with the erasure of the memory of this historical and cultural site as well as of the Ferrers, in general. The Ferrers were experienced administrators and managers who built this area up from its wild origins and civilised the anscestors of these bibulous, undisciplined, oath-breaking saxon/gothic parvenues. This conspiracy is going so far that even the location and reference to the ancient Abbey-Monastery is being withheld from the latest Road-Maps! How low can one go?
A typical and classical example of what I am complaining about is the present Earl Ferrers ( actually a branch of the Shirley, ancient saxon name being Siwalis, whose saxon anscestors crawled-up the social ladder on the back of the Ferrers, at one stage in 1700 actually blackening their name, whose millers they had been, tempore William the Conqueror ) sitting in the House of Lords is doing nothing about Ferrers' monuments and heraldic and historical recognition.
Predictable, is it dear Watson! What? Quite so, old chap! Barbarians!
The Anglican Church, in spite of a few exceptions among its lower ranks ( i.e., the lady-rector of the Church at Merevale who keeps the Church immaculately and loves her effigies ) is useless and historically biased.
I have written to the Bishop of Leicester offering financial and pratical help but the arrogant fellow did not even bother to acknowledge my letter.
On the other hand, I am happy to be able to say, confirming the truth that " noblesse oblige ", His Royal Highness Prince Charles, did acknowledge and share my concerns
thrice-: Good on you Charles!
Noble England, Noble England, how lowly Thou art being dragged down by the usurpers from the steppe!
The copy of a letter directed to whomever may be concerned with my identification of the identity of the knight-effigy at Merevale.
4th March 2007
To Whomever may be concerned.
Reference-: Identity of stone effigy of Ferrers-Knight in the Gate-Church of Our Lady of Merevale Abbey.
Dear Madam/Sir or as applicable in the case Titles are concerned,
I visited the Church in June 2004 admitted by the most genteel Rector, the lady Reverend .........., when on a pilgrimage and modest historical research for a book I am writing about the Clan of the de Ferrariis to which the Ferrers belong. While leafing through The Monumental Effigies of Great Britain compiled by C. A. Stothard, I have become certain that the effigy under discussion represents a Member of the Order of the Knights Templars who had taken vows ( a Crusading Knight ) to fight Infidels in the Holy Land, owing to characteristic symbolic features of the carving of this effigy which were at the times this was made, within the Order of the Templars, the distinction accorded to its crusading members -:
1. The crossed legs.
2. The fact that these are represented in a walking stance.
3. The sword carried on the right hand side.
4. The right-hand-side hand over the heart.
5. When laid in their original position the effigies would be gazing and with their walking-stance oriented toward the East.
Examples of these are shown by five effigies shown at page 1 of the section of the mentioned book devoted to the Knights Templars.Allow me to quote from page 2 of the same section-:
Stow speaks of " eleven monuments of noblemen in the round of the Church [ in Fleet street, London , built in 1240 A.D. upon the foundations of a pre-existing Church dedicated to the Virgin Mary by Patriarch Eraclius]; eight of them, images of armed knights, five being cross-legged as men vowed to the Holy Land against the infidels and unbelieving Jews; the other three straight-legged; the rest are coaped stones, all of grey marble................
Unquote.
Further on, the carrying of the sword preferentially if unusually on the right- hand side by men destined for service in the Middle East is also related. This practice may have been adopted in order to facilitate the riding of the same horseby two kights in crisis ( Templars always fought as a pair ), to balance the weight of the shields, to remove the long scabbard from the blind side and to place it on the sword-side in order to negate the possibility to an opponent grabbing it, usually from behind, in a melee.
I have found evidence that Geoffrey de Magnaville and Geoffrey de Mandeville are two different characters (see Costain and Dugdale ), the former living in the days of W. Conqueror, and dying of wounds in the days of king Stephen, while the latter died after William Ferrers and king Richard I, as De Mandeville fully participated in the struggles for Magna Carta in the times of King John. The two effigies are strikingly similar, the one of Mandeville being a later copy made of the Ferrers' one, the latter's being however superior in the carving of the mantling and exhuding a more stately personality, even in its present vandalised condition. The information leaflet issued at the Gate-Church, states that the effigy came from Merevale-Abbey's Church, gives the name of an art-critic of the past called Pevsner who praised the sculpture's quality, and mentions the possibility it may be of a William, the fourth Earl of Derby, however, according to my knowledge, the fourth Earl was called Robert, the rebel who joined the wife and four sons of King Henry II ( i.e. Henry, Geoffrey, Richard and John ) in a rebellion against the King that lasted sixteen years. However, Robert's son, called William, the fifth Earl of Derby, joined Richard Lion-Heart in his crusade in the Middle East and died at the siege of Acre in 8 Richard I, ca. 1197 A.D. It appears therefore that if this effigy is of a Ferrers' knight, as it must be since it was originally located in Merevale- Abbey's Church, it must represent with the greatest probability the crusading William Lord Ferrers, the fifth Earl of Derby. [ Henry II ( reigned ca. 1154-1189 ); Richard I ( reigned ca. 1189-1199 ). ]I believe that, in spite of all possible uncertainties, my identification is more constructive than the one used at present and should in all justice be adopted, granting me recognition of my discovery.
Further evidence that the Ferrers had ties with the Templars at the time this effigy was carved is evidenced by the Syon Cope ( in the V. & A. Museum ) commemorating the times of Richard I (i.e., Spanish royal Coat of Arms in relation to his wife ) in which the Templars' Arms (i.e. A Paschal Lamb..........) are enbroidered together with those of Sir William (died ca.1197 ) and Lord Robert Ferrers ( 1241-1279), the eighth and last Earl of Derby, the second great rebel in this family, and of other influential families of the Midlands.

Would you care to give me some feedback in relation to these observations? Who in Great Britain would be directly interested in this discovery and what should be done about it? How important is it in view of the fact that no one among the archeologists and artists interested in monuments and effigies ( i.e., Stothard ) have mentioned the existence or realised the identity of this Knight Templar? I have written to the Rector of the Gate Church of Our Lady at Merevale, but received no answer. She should at least correct the label she places at the side of the effigy. Could not missing parts be replaced by plastic components, while at the same time notifying the visitors of the restoration occurred ? I would also like to receive recognition of my discovery.
I remain, Yours faithfully
